Editorial Review:
In his seminal works Megatrends and Megatrends 2000, John Naisbitt proved himself one of the most far-sighted and accurate observers of our fast-changing world. Mind Set! goes beyond that—Mind Set! discloses the secret of forecasting. John Naisbitt gives away the keys to the kingdom, opening the door to the insights that let him understand today's world and see the opportunities of tomorrow. He selects his most effective tools, 11 Mindsets, and applies them by guiding the reader through the five forces that will dominate the next decades of the twenty-first century. Illustrated by stories about Galileo and Einstein to today's icons and rebels in business, science, and sports, Mind Set! opens your eyes to see beyond media headlines, political slogans, and personal opinions to select and judge what will form the pictures of the future. Mind Set! 2008-10-04 I am a hungarian student at University of Economics in Budapest and I purchased this book in ordet to prepare my degree work. The book was very usefull for me and the language easy to understand even with my not very high level english knowledge. The content is really professional at the same time easy to understand. I am sad that the book is not issued in Hungarian language. I highly recommend it.
Great Book without the Europe Chapter 2008-09-05 I was really enjoying this book and Mr Naisbitt overview of the next future , but when I got to the Chapter about the future of Europe I couldn't believe what I was reading. From the very first paragraph I just saw a guy making "personal" attacks to Europeans. Mr Naisbitt a man of such higher culture and experience, talking like a hurted teenager, using a chapter of his book to take his personal revenge against someone or something, I don't know ..... not really professional I guess. I don't like to spend my money and my time reading that Europe is doomed just because we take too long vacation, (it's like saying that US is doomed if they keep eating hamburgers) or because we are so stupid to believe in a strong economic grown that goes with a strong social campaign. I am from Italy and I know we have some problems in our system, on the other hand we are trying to make Europe work and I can assure you that it's something new never tryed before, so it's not easy. My opinion is that Europe has lot to learn from US and likewise US from Europe. MINDSET is a great book, very easy to read and very pleasant , buy it and ready it (just skip Europe chapter). Mr Naisbitt........Ad Maiora

Very good book on thinking 2008-05-24 I purchased this book because it was a required college text. After reading it, I have to tell you it open by eyes and allowed me to view the world from a different perspective. It gives excellent examples on some of the most important mindsets to help you better understand the world around you.
A good place to start 2008-02-05 This is the first time I've read a book trying to predict the future, so, as a novice in this area I've got to say that the book was excelent. It got me to focus upon areas that I've frankly never bothered with in the past. And as a european, I found his thoughts on europe and our politicians to be quite an eye opener.
Other reviewers of this book say that there are better books out there, but if you're a newcomer to this type of thought and forecasting then this book isn't going to waste your time.
Ghassan Qutob ( Jordan) : A macro forecast for the future 2007-10-25 I always wondered if there are certain rules used by those people we call "futuristics" when they give analysis of "Trends", this book has the answer. John Naisbitt gave a set of 11 "Mindsets" for looking into world phenomenon in the first half of his book, very detailed, logical & easy to get. But i don't underestimate the megatrends he addresses in the second half of his work. Those trends are impressivly mind openers : The visual trends of the culture, the China phenomena ... etc. To conclude: the book is another Megatrend.. but combined with a good lesson of "How to be a futuristic viewer".
