The Leenders text provides a comprehensive introduction to the purchasing and supply chain management field, supported by 50 case studies. Cases cover purchasing and supply chain issues in a variety of settings, from process industries to high tech manufacturing and services as well as public institutions. Supply Management concepts, both strategic and tactical, have been expanded throughout the text, particularly in new chapters on Supply Law and Ethics, Public Supply, and Supplier Relations. While all basic tenets of the purchasing function and cost issues remain, the coverage of the field is state of the art highlighting the supply chain approach. . Cached date: AWS Called=true

Horrible book for undergraduate level 2008-11-10 This book may be helpful for MBA classes or CPM prep. However, this is not a good for undergraduate students. The cases are somewhat interesting and there is no glossary. The chapters are long (30-40 pages) and conclusions/summarys are short (maybe a paragraph) and not very helpful.
CPM Certification prep 2006-08-21 This book is an excellance source to prepare for the CPM certification exams.
Excellent Book for both Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Professionals 2006-02-26 I used this book as part of an independent study course that I took for my MBA program. The book provides an excellent review of the purchasing function within a supply chain context. The case studies are short and well written. Without being lengthy, the cases are direct, to-the-point and packed with a plethora of information that are ready for analysis. I highly recommend this book to both students and logistics & supply chain management professionals. As an invaluable reference source, I will be keeping this book as part of my library.
