Editorial Review:
Cliff Ragsdale is an innovator of the spreadsheet teaching revolution and is highly regarded in the field of management science. The 4th edition retains the elements and philosophy that has made its past editions so successful. New topics have been added as well as examples that are relevant to decision making in today's business world. This new edition of Spreadsheet Modeling and Decision Analysis provides instruction in the most commonly used management science techniques and shows how these tools can be implemented using the most current version of Microsoft Excel for Windows. This text also focuses on developing both algebraic and spreadsheet modeling skills. Cached date: AWS Called=true

It's OK. 2008-09-09 The book is OK. It is thorough in the chapter as how to implement the models in excel. That can be fun if you like to set up and solve problems. The only thing about the text is the problems in the back of each chapter. The problems would be very hard to solve, because the problems are not exactly how the set up is within the chapter.
When I was in class and was given homework problems, it was very difficult in determining the set up. When the class saw they answers the next class they were different than the set up in the chapter. Don't expect the answers to be like the chapter. There is always some other additions to the model or it may be set up a different way. It might be appropriate to ask the professor to go over some problems in class so you can gain a clearer understanding of Operations Modeling.
Spreadsheet Modeling and Decision Analysis (with CD-ROM and Microsoft Project 2003 120 day version) 2008-02-26 This book was received in a timely fashion and Amazon is continuing to make sure their customers are completely satisfied.
A Good Book for Finance/IT majors 2007-09-17 This book does what it sets out to do: teach spreadsheet modeling. I'm only on the third chapter, but the author does a good job including step by step instructions on how to create winning models. The author is also very easy to understand. So if you're going to be doing optimization and modeling in your work, I highly recommend this book.
Great book, and includes @RISK 2007-08-06 Ragsdale really makes spreadsheet modeling accessible to real-world business situations. It was a great asset to my MBA coursework. As a student, it came with a free student version of @RISK risk analysis software as well.
Good practical text 2006-11-12 A good book for those studying decision making techniques or as a reference for managers looking to upgrade their skills
