Editorial Review:
Your lunar return is an emotional rebirthing that occurs every 271/2 days. The lunar return chart exposes the immediate terrain of your life and can guide your day-to-day decisions. It lives in its own right and in relation to the natal chart, and it responds to transits during the month. This book explores the interpretation of the lunar return in depth. one of the best... 2007-08-31 This is a great book both in writing and analysing Lunar Returns profoundly. Townley has a wonderful way of explaining complex astrological meanings in a short and as entertaining, but meaningful sentences. He is very gifted writer and astrologer (the combination is not as usual as one should assume). This IMHO the best of (sadly) very few astrological book about the interesting Lunar Returns. He should write one about Solar Returns too, it would surely be a contributation besides to all existing books about that topic. Townley talks about house positions of all planets and the nodes, their respective angles, angles to natal chart, even Full and New Moon positions/transits to both chart types. Really great!
Another Cookbook 2005-06-03 I was happy to find this book about Lunar returns, a topic on which you will not find much literature. However, I was quite disappointed with the content. It's just another cookbook delineating planets in houses and aspects between planets. The delineations are well-written though. There is a short chapter on transits to the natal planets too and a (very) short chapter on New and Full Moon, retrogrades and eclipses. You will not find anything about the real standouts in the Lunar returns, nor about progressing the Lunar return chart, nor about important midpoint configurations, nor about the relationship with progressions or solar returns, nor about sensitive degree areas or exact conjunctions to prominent Fixed stars. There is nothing on the Lunar parallax. This book is a good beginning though and I'm glad somebody has written a book about Lunar returns.
John Townley at his best 2003-11-12 I am a practising astrologer for almost 30 years and have always regarded the moon's placement to be as important as the ascendant when casting a chart. The Moon is the Soul of the chart, and the ascendant is the Personality. John Townley has done a lot of research before publishing this book, and I would recommend it to other astrologers and to those who are interested in astrology. I must give John Townley 5 stars for this wonderful book.
