The Lean Office Pocket Guide is designed as a quick-reference as you learn and implement Lean tools related to administrative areas. The Lean Office Pocket Guide contains: detailed descriptions of twenty-nine Lean office tools, 130+ illustrations of forms/graphs/worksheets, a Lean Office Assessment, and a glossary of Lean office terms. Nothing in the industry will compare to this value! Cached date: AWS Called=true You may also be interested in these products:
Suprisingly Good for Office 2008-11-16 I found this book to offer the following points: 5S: Very well and to the point written Business Case for Lean: Important concept and relates exactly to what is needed in the office Continuous flow: Good explanation of supermarkets and Fifo lanes that apply of electronic and paper flow in offices Cycle time: Well defined with examples Data collection: Appropriately explained Heijunka Leveling: To the point and a good overview Interruptions and Random Arrivals: Could not have said it better myself Just-in-Time: Concept well explained Kanban for Office Supplies: Could not find a better example in any book in the market - superbly done Lean Metics: BAsic and to the point Lean Office Assessment: Great tool to build upon Lean Reporting and Communications: Basic, but well explained Office File System: A cut above any other explanation in any book..relates directly to the Desktop All the other are as good as these. I strong recommendation to buy. I also recommend Lean Office Demystified as the detail implementation of these tools. But for the price, you cannot beat The Lean Office Pocket Guide!
Proves Lean in the Office Works 2008-11-14 I found this book the most to-the-point reference for applying Lean in administrative settings. It is a general guide, however, the explanations on the applications to administrative work is fundamentally solid. A recommendation for Lean Office materials.
Good, Basic Content for Office Processes 2008-11-14 I thought this book did an excellent job in relating the typical manufacturing concepts of Lean to administrative settings for less than $10.00. We have purchased over 200 of these for our office staff and refer to it in all our training and Lean office projects. Fantastic little pocket guide.
Suprisingly poor... 2008-10-20 I order this book based on many (around 20) very positive reviews. How I was astonished how poor the content is!
I'm only 9+ years in manufacturing and Lean. It's good to know that Six Sigma and "Resistance to Change" are Lean Manufacturing tools (see page xi). I also first time could learn something about the tool called WASTE (I felt like somebody want to make a fool of me!).
The pocket guide does not have many pages but I think "Problem Solving" is just to fill in a few pages. What was the purpose to put inside??? If you want to find out something about problem solving - you need a book about it.
Tools mentioned in this book: - 5S - ok.; - Business Case for Lean - useless; - Continous Flow - ok.; - Cycle Time - this is not a tool; - Data Collection Technique - is just like writing and reading at school! - Document Tagging - some kind visualisation; - Heijunka - ok.; - Interruptions - there are also breaks and lunches in the "office life"; - JIT - ok.; - KAIZEN - ok.; - Kanban - ok.; - Lean Metrics - no added value, it may be better to write: first you have to measure it if you want to improve it; - Lean Office assesment - good; - Lean Reporting - is just a common sense how to report and communicate; - Office File System - ok.; - Layout - ok.; - Pitch - ok.; - Output - useless; - Pull - ok.; - Runners - ok.; - Standard Work - ok.; - Takt time - glossary is a place for it; - Goal card - let it be; - VSM - very good; - Visual Control - ok.; - Work Load - ok.;
OK - if you just started with LM, you may find something interesting; if you have few years of experiense - you may skip it.
If you need a book "how-to-do-it" - look for something else.
Don't Go Lean Without this Great Lean Office Book 2008-07-26 We loved this book! The explanations of the Lean tools in how they related to various administrative processes is exceptional. The step-by-step implementation for each tool was also very helpful. The Lean Office Pocket Guide is just that - a guide for you to improve office productivity. Having a reference book such as this allowed everyone to be aligned in understanding the Lean tools. The subsequent Lean teams are continually implementing the tools and practices as explained in this book. We ensure all our employees have this book (for the office)or one of The Lean Pocket Guides (for production).
