Editorial Review:
Everything You Need to Know to Feel Go(o)d is Candace Pert’s response to the questions she’s been asked in her worldwide travels ever since the publication of her book Molecules of Emotion, and her appearance in the film What the Bleep Do We Know?! She discovered that, at the end of the day, all people really want to know is how to feel good.
Within these pages, Dr. Pert shares the answers she’s found, both in the biomedical laboratory of mainstream science and in the laboratory of her own evolving life. Her amazing journey documents how mind, body, and spirit cannot be separated; and that we’re hard-wired for bliss, which is both physical and divine. Feeling good and feeling God, she believes, are one and the same.
From beginning to end, this book takes us on an entertaining romp through the many bodymind avenues, separating the woo-woo from real science and pointing the way toward using new paradigm therapies, detoxing our food and environment, forgiving and healing our relationships, understanding depression, staying young, and creating the reality we want to experience. Consciousness, mind, emotions, and God are all factored into the mix, resulting in a lot of beneficial advice and self-development insights that will empower us toward health, well-being, and feeling . . . Go(o)d.

I liked this book 2008-10-01
I read this book just after Molecules of Emotion and like how it picks up where MoE leaves off. I thought it was a great book though I realize not everyone agrees with the bodymind paradigm. She talks a lot about how we store emotions in our bodies, how forgiveness heals, as well as other means of healing. How to get to a feeling of "wholeness" and the experiences she had to get there. I believe our emotions largely affect the way we feel and this book reinforced that belief.
Dr. Pert mentions Dr. John Sarno as a rare exception to those who use the usual medical treatment for back pain (pills, P/T and/or surgery) and when I had debilitating back pain and saw Dr. Sarno, he helped me get to what was causing emotional pain, and my back pain went away in 2 weeks. Dr. Pert also mentions Laurel Mellin and the Solution program, which I have also done and it is great for eliminating emotional trash from your past and readjusting your expectations to be realistic.

Dr. Pert has been through a lot and it is an interesting journey. I love how she clarifies the saying "money is the root of all evil"--the Biblical verse actually says THE LOVE of money . . .
Interesting study about aspertame.

I enjoyed this book and will read it a few more times.

Disappointed - Very Unuseful!! 2008-09-10
Yes - Completely disappointed and sentiments exactly with D. Peterson, C. Carol. This is really just notes that Pert could use one day for her Biography, and the constant references to her co-author bugging her to finish the book makes one feel like producing the book was a complete drag and annoyance which doesn't make the reader feel particularly good either! I saw Pert on Larry King and in the film "What the ..." and immediately wanted to learn more about certain subjects she raised but didn't explain or even mention God much in the book, aside from how they came up with the title of the book. No reason to duplicate others' reviews -- don't bother with this one and go on to the other book recommendations, believe me!

Only for Pert Groupies 2008-08-07
This book ought to have been titled "Everything Candace Pert Needed to Know to Feel Good." I am impressed by Pert's body of work, have enjoyed some of her audio lectures and admired Molecules of Emotion, but if you're familiar with her other work and with glib New Age philosophy in general, there's nothing new here.

Someone who undertakes writing a book should organize the ideas she wants to present, rather than embedding them in a stream of consciousness narrative about her own adventures, insights and personal life intercut with snippets of her professional work. I am afraid that Pert's status as a scientific Rock Star has gone to her head, at least when she sets out to write. As a bodywork professional, I've been condemned to sit through a lot of workshops that were just as air-puffed and focused on the amazing insightfulness of the instructor (as presented by him or her). I hate to realize I just paid money for a similar experience.

Interesting book, lacks real help 2008-07-30
Like many of the reviewers before me have stated, I would have to agree that this book is really about Candace and her personal journey to feel good. While I did find that interesting, I found little in the book to actually help me feel good, which was the reason I purchased the book in the first place. I did get tired of the name dropping, patting herself on the back, mentioning how popular she is, and the constant mention of Peptide T. If this had been advertised as a personal journey I would have been less disappointed in the content.

Where's feeling Go(o)d in this book? 2008-03-31
This was an interesting book to read, but it sure didn't give the reader everything you need to know to feel good or God. It was more of a daily journal with experiences that Candace had, such as massage or guided imagery. If you're looking for a book that gives specific direction, this is not it. This is the meanderings of one person (granted, very smart) and what she's tried as far as different modalities of self realization. And God? He's mentioned a few times, but this book is really 'All you need to know about Candace Pert'. Interesting, but not real helpful.
