Editorial Review:
In Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, Richard Bach met Donald Shimoda, a fellow pilot with the keys to the universe who barnstormed the Midwest in a Travel Air biplane. Part of Shimoda's secret was a small book, bound in a what looked like suede - Messiah's Handbook: Reminders for the Advanced Soul. "Open it," he said, "and whatever you need to know is there." Lost for decades and rediscovered, here it is in print at last - reminders for those who have outgrown cynicism and doubt. Cached date: AWS Called=true

Thank you for publishing this... 2008-09-22 it saves me having to copy them out of the book and putting them on my wall. I read Illusions first when it came out nearly 30 years ago. It is as timeless a read now as ever and it is a classic.
Two thumbs up! 2008-06-06 I bought this for my middle-aged son, a Richard Bach devotee, for his birthday. He was thrilled! He opens it to a new page every morning to read his lesson for the day. I bought a copy for myself but haven't had time to explore it yet. Soon!
Some good "Home Truths" to keep one centred ! 2007-12-11 This excellent little book gives quote after quote that linger in the mind. It cuts through so much "Fairy-Tale" nonsense that we grow up with and get taught as "Gospel Truth" ! In fact , it is a real step forward towards getting beyond obsolete attitudes and absurd beliefs . It gives one a refreshingly realistic perspective on what we are probably all doing here on this planet. So much of it rings true , for me ,at least ! I, personally , love it and give it top rating. Bravo, Richard Bach !
Bach's best! 2007-11-12 While I've read all of Richard Bach's books, this little book is a great reminder of things we may have forgotten. I highly recommend this book.
No middle ground 2007-11-04 DO NOT READ THIS BOOK UNTIL YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS in the introduction. This is one of those volumes you will either hate or love. There is no middle ground. I still have my leatherbound Jonathon Livingstone Seagull from the early 70's. Somewhere in my wife's jewelry box is my old JLS medallion that says, "You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self here and now" boldly etched upon it. I was a JLS fan and found value in Illusions several years later. Then, I lost touch as I perceived Mr. Bach lost touch with subsequent efforts. I stumbled upon this handbook recently and my wife bought it for my birthday. At very first blush, I hated it! Then I read the directions.
DO NOT READ THIS BOOK UNTIL YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS in the introduction. This book is not intended to be read. It is intended to be referenced. It is a sophisticated Magic 8 Ball, and it has value. After reading the directions and using the manual as it is intended to be used, I love it. It sets on my desk at work and I do use it weekly.
